Our founder

Ertuğrul Aslan Sezgin

Owner and Managing Director

I studied electronics at a vocational high school, then electrical as an external student at another, and graduated from the Mechatronics Department of Sakarya University.

I began my maritime career in 1988 as an electronics technician and electrical officer in the electronics repair team of Deniz Nakliyat T.A.Ş. Over nine years of active service, I took part in the repair and maintenance of radar, gyro, autopilot, radio and electrical-electronic systems on many ships.

After resigning, I served for three years as Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) on UND RO/RO ships, with full responsibility for their electrical and electronic systems.

In 2000 I joined the Directorate General of Coastal Safety as an electrical officer. Drawing on that experience, I set up its electrical-electronic repair team and played an active part in resolving technical faults on the institution’s tugs, SAR boats and other vessels. I retired after 23 years of service.

Today, together with the colleague I started out with in the profession, I have founded our company Erkon Marin, and we continue to offer our more than 35 years of maritime experience as a professional technical service to merchant vessels, tugs and all floating platforms.

Our professional journey

  1. 1988

    D.B. Deniz Nakliyat T.A.Ş.

Our professional journey began in 1988 in the electronics repair team of D.B. Deniz Nakliyat T.A.Ş., one of Türkiye’s most established maritime institutions.

During this period, we repaired, maintained, installed and removed a wide range of navigation and communication systems. These included:

radar, gyro, autopilot, VHF radio and various bridge equipment from brands such as Raytheon, Kelvin Hughes, Sperry, Decca, Furuno, Sailor, JRC and Gylot.

  2. 2000

    Directorate General of Coastal Safety

Building on this broad experience, in 2000 we moved to the Directorate General of Coastal Safety and set up its first Electrical-Electronic Repair Team and workshop. We ran the workshop for 23 years, until 2023: we organised the work and trained electrical officers for the institution’s ships.

In those 23 years we carried out fault diagnosis and maintenance on the electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and automation systems of every tug and SAR boat, floating crane and other vessel in the institution’s fleet, and worked on setting up its shore stations.

We also handled fault diagnosis and maintenance of main engines and auxiliary engines (generators/DG).
